Researchers at Cardiff University tested different methods of encouraging people to switch to reusable cups at 12 cafes during a three-month trial period. They found out that offering a 25p discount to people supplying their own reusable cups had no effect. However, charging 25p for a disposable cup increased usage of reusable ones by 3,4%.
