Capsule e cialde di caffè come imballaggi (Coffee capsules and pods as packaging)
From August 12, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) comes into force in Italy. This is European Regulation 40 of 2025, which redefines packaging rules throughout Europe. For the coffee world, this is a historic step: capsules and pods, for the first time, will be officially classified as "packaging," even though they still contain coffee residues when consumers throw them away.
