Denmark: Filter coffee dominates the coffee market

Filter coffee remains the most popular type of coffee in Denmark although espresso products are becoming increasingly popular. This emerges from a new survey conducted by Nespresso. The survey, involving 1,100 Danes, shows that 90% of Danes drink filter coffee every week.

However, the growing popularity of other than filter coffee products has resulted in coffee producer BKI Foods exporting its filter coffee. It is thanks to sales in Sweden and in Finland that the company's coffee sales have increased. BKI Foods also expects coffee to be the commodity to drive growth for the group in 2010.
