illycaffe names Honorary President

Anna Illy replaces her husband Ernesto Illy who passed away on February 3, 2008. The new honorary president has been member of the board of directors of illycaffe since 1963. She was vice president of the company until 1995. For the period between 2001 and 2004 Anna Illy was chairwoman of Italian industrialists’ association Associazione degli Industriali in Trieste, in the northern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The news was announced by the president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Illycaffe, Andrea Illy, in Trieste, during a workshop on the 75th anniversary of the company.

As ANSA reported, illycaffe will organise events in Trieste, Berlin and Venice on the occasion of its 75th anniversary, Andrea Illy announced in advance in Trieste. The first event, in Trieste, started with an international meeting of the company's partners. A Galleria Illy (Illy Gallery), which will host events dedicated to art, literature, food and wine, as well as tasting courses, will stay open from September 26 to October 11, 2008. illycaffe will also carry out an open-door initiative in Trieste October 24 and 25, 2008.
