Onda Coffee Break (www.onda.bg[http://www.onda.bg]), whose biggest shareholder is Greek fund manager Global Finance, has 11 outlets in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. It competes with local peers Jan Coffee Break Group and Jimmy’s, an ice-cream parlour and coffee shop chain, as well as with international majors like UK’s Costa Coffee and Coffee Republic, Poland’s coffeeheaven, Greece’s Flocafe, U.S. coffee chain Starbucks Coffee Company and the McCafe format of quick-service chain McDonald’s.

Lavazza is one of the world’s top coffee roasters with operations in over 90 countries and sales of over 1.1 billion euro ($1.49 billion) in 2009.
