Kraft Foods Inc., a global leader in branded foods and beverages, will showcase more than 70 new foods and beverages in a revolutionary Internet-based virtual world at the 2007 Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Supermarket Convention and Educational Exposition, May 6-8, in Chicago. Kraft will be the first food and beverage company to team up with Supermarket Guru and Today Show Food Editor & Contributor Phil Lempert on his exclusive "Phil\'s Supermarket" in the interactive online world of Second Life.Kraft Foods Inc. To commemorate the official grand opening of the cyber store, Kraft will host a must-see virtual ribbon cutting with Rick Searer, President, Kraft North America. At the virtual ceremony and live in the Kraft booth, Kraft will make a donation of $450,000 to America's Second Harvest - The Nation's Food Bank Network. Kraft has contributed more than $6.4 million and hundreds of millions of pounds of food to America's Second Harvest as well as more than $26 million to its affiliate members over its 20+ year partnership. This first-of-its-kind donation in a virtual world will bring a whole new meaning to "Second Life." Additionally, Kraft will invite consumers to join in supporting America's Second Harvest's battle against hunger.

Back in the "real" world, Lempert will be at the Kraft booth throughout the three-day FMI show to introduce attendees to the next generation of the Internet - Second Life - while demonstrating how to make better and smarter shopping choices as never-before-seen. Attendees will be able to interact with the latest new products from Kraft and participate in interactive online forums with Kraft experts.

The largest exhibitor at the annual FMI show, Kraft will unveil food and beverage innovations that focus on four key growth areas for the company: health and wellness, premium taste, quick meals and snacking. Among the more than 70 new products, Kraft will feature cheeses with probiotics and prebiotics for digestive health, on-the-go snacks and convenient meal solutions from popular brands like DiGiorno, Jell-O, Oscar Mayer, Philadelphia, Planters and South Beach Diet.

"By reframing our categories and focusing on four growing segments - health and wellness, premium taste, quick meals and snacking - our 2007 product innovations fit the dynamic lifestyles of our consumers."

Health and Wellness

From Sensible Solution options to enhanced beverages to portion control choices, Kraft is building on its broad offering of better-for-you foods and beverages that help consumers live healthier lifestyles. In 2007, Kraft will introduce more than 30 new products in the U.S., such as Honey Maid Bees and Boca Meatless Breakfast Wraps, which feature the company's Sensible Solution flag that helps consumers easily identify better-for-you choices. Currently, the Sensible Solution flag appears on 500+ Kraft products that help meet a variety of dietary needs, such as weight management, heart health, diabetes management, digestive health and nutritious kids snacking.
