The new stores will increase the number of Starbucks Coffee Korea branches to 360 from the current 319 at the end of this year, Lee Seock-koo said in a meeting with reporters.
The world's largest coffee franchise set up its unit in South Korea in 1999.
In terms of store numbers, Starbucks Coffee Korea ranked first among coffeehouse chains in South Korea, followed by Angel in us Coffee with 283 and Caffebene with 240.
There are 12 coffeehouse chains in South Korea, including five foreign companies -- Starbucks Coffee Korea, The Coffee Bean, Pascucci, Cafe Illy and Tully's Coffee.
