Splendid, a historic coffee brand, was born in Turin in 1969 from an artisanal roasting company, the "General Coffee Company." The success of the product soon brought Splendid to industrial dimensions so much so that it was acquired in 1972 by Procter & Gamble and in 1992 by today's Kraft Foods. Splendid is produced at the Andezeno (Turin) plant according to the strictest quality standards. The modern and technologically advanced Andezeno plant received ISO 9002 certification in January 1997.
