Minute Coffee
We are proud to be able to announce that as of September 2017, Minuto Caffè's paper filter coffee pods are original E.S.E. coffee pods, so you can consider them a product guaranteed to work properly on all coffee machines bearing the E.S.E. brand name.
It is recommended to use the E.S.E. coffee pod product on espresso machines with a brewing group adapted to the paper pod format or on machines in which the appropriate pod filter has been inserted into the filter holder. The pods are designed for all espresso machines with the E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) system, which guarantees perfect compatibility between machine and pod to ensure perfect espresso in the cup.
If you want to buy a new coffee machine and want to be able to use either powder or single-servings indifferently, consider one of these models (the list is not complete and may be outdated after the publication of this article, so check the manufacturers' websites for updates):

This of using the E.S.E. standard is not the first recognition Minuto Caffè has received for its filter paper pods: in 2014, in particular, the Minuto Caffè Espresso Love 100% Arabica blend won the gold medal at the 2014 International Coffee Tasting edition for its category: in short, Minuto Caffè pods are a good and guaranteed choice, long live Minuto Caffè's E.S.E. pods.
The filter paper pod was probably the first form of single-serve in coffee: derived from a company patent whose collective trademark was assigned to the Consortium for the Development and Protection of Standard E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso), founded specifically in February 1998, with the aim of setting the above-defined standard so that coffee roasters and coffee machine manufacturers could refer to standard parameters in order to be able to achieve an optimal extraction result. Even today, the "E.S.E. pod" standard is distinguished by a substantial difference from all single-serve standards, namely, the fact that it constitutes an open standard, i.e., accessible to all coffee roasters or coffee machine manufacturers who want to use it.
The E.S.E. standard paper coffee pod is a diskid of roasted, ground, dosed, and compressed coffee enclosed between two sheets of food-grade filter paper. The dose of coffee powder must be at least 6.5 grams. The nominal diameter of the wafer must conform to the following dimensions and their tolerances: nominal diameter 43.5 mm. tolerance -0/+1.0 mm; nominal height 9.6 mm. tolerance -0.5/+1.0 mm.(according to Technical Specifications All. 1 of the Consortium E.S.E. Statute)
Of course, only companies associated with the E.S.E. Consortium can offer their customers their own pods marked "E.S.E." instead of as "E.S.E. compatible" pods. The seemingly subtle difference is instead substantial: only in the case of E.S.E. pods the consumer can really have the guarantee of perfect coffee extraction with his or her E.S.E. machine because the Consortium periodically checks the product at the production plants of member companies relying on an independent certifying body. Whereas for compatible pods the guarantee of proper functioning is guaranteed only by their manufacturer .
